The marquise is long and pointed at both ends, a shape first cut for the French court in the eighteenth century and little altered since. Carat for carat it covers more of the finger than any other cut. Six prongs hold it, with a pair guarding each point.
The band is set from shoulder to shoulder with small round brilliant moissanite, bead set by hand so the metal itself holds each stone. It makes the band appear finer and lifts more light into the center stone.
On a pave band the line runs unbroken from one point to the other.
